Privacy Policy for Language Model Builder

Data Collection

Language Model Builder does not sell personal information or use it for advertising, analytics, or tracking. The app does not include user accounts. Except for the network connections described below, the app does not collect or transmit personal information.

Projects, imported training data, downloaded datasets, model weights, prompts, preferences, and training results are stored locally on your Mac. They are not uploaded to the developer.

Software Updates

When you check for updates, or allow automatic update checks, the direct-download version of Language Model Builder connects to the app’s update service. The service and its infrastructure providers may receive routine connection information, such as your IP address, app version, and updater version.

Update checks do not transmit your projects, imported training data, downloaded datasets, model weights, prompts, preferences, or training results. The app does not enable Sparkle’s optional system profiling. Mac App Store versions receive updates through Apple instead of the app’s update service.

Dataset Downloads and External Links

When you choose to download a dataset, Language Model Builder connects directly to the third-party service hosting that dataset, such as Hugging Face. That service may receive routine connection information, such as your IP address, according to its own privacy policy.

If you open documentation or another external link, your web browser connects to the destination website. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because the developer does not receive or store your app data, there is no app data to retain or delete on developer-controlled servers.

You can delete locally stored projects and downloaded datasets from within the app. You can remove any remaining local data from your Mac after uninstalling the app.

Support Communications

If you contact the developer by email, the developer receives the information you choose to include in your message. It is used only to respond to your request and is retained only as reasonably necessary for support and recordkeeping. You may request its deletion by contacting the developer.

Changes to This Policy

If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the affected version is released. The revised policy will include a new effective date.
